These are some common terms used by the DMFD community.

Technical Terms

The following are a collection of technical terms used to explain intricate mathematical calculations.[1]

Motion Value

A motion value can be thought of as "the value of the motion". Motion Value is the constant number that represents the base damage of an attack. This value is multiplied by a stat and related modifiers to determine the total amount of damage from that attack. For example, the motion value of Icon Element Poison.pngPoison Shinobi's Dragon Kick is 34, and the calculation for Holy attacks is PIE * Motion Value. If Shinobi's PIE is 5, then Shinobi's Dragon Kick will most likely deal 5 * 34 = 170 damage.

DP Efficiency

DP Efficiency (AKA Efficiency) is a rating of how much damage you get for your DP. The formula is:

Motion Value / DP Cost

Magic Base

Magic Base (AKA Magic Base Value) is a hidden constant value unique to each Playable Character that is added to M.ATK.

Magic Base Values
Class Magic Base
Empress 130
Warrior 50
Shinobi 85
Witch 0
Oracle Thrust = 32
Guard = 30
Slash = 32
Focus = 0
Bandit Small-sword = 45
Shuriken = 45

Class Mod

Class Mod (AKA Class Modification) is a value unique to each Playable Character that is multiplied to the base formula for Physical attack power, STR + ATK.

Class Modification Values
Class Class Mod
Empress 1
Warrior 0.1925
Shinobi 0.65
Witch 0.765
Oracle 0.245
Bandit 0.344
