Character Creation
Selecting a Character
DMFD features 6 Playable Characters:
Character | Summary |
---|---|
Empress | All-around melee DPS[a] attacker. Recommended introductory character for a balanced playstyle with quick attacks and intricate positioning to "dance around" enemies. Comparable to the baseline gameplay of Inti Creates's Mega Man Zero and Mega Man ZX games. |
Warrior | Defender, tank, and berserker. Recommended introductory character for players unfamiliar with 2D action games and who prefer a slower playstyle. Playstyle revolves around defending teammates and, in turn, building up power to unleash powerful burst attacks. |
Shinobi | Agile fighter and "DP battery" who draws aggro and attacks with a lock-on. Recommended advanced character for a tactical playstyle focused on intricate positioning in midair. Somewhat comparable to the gameplay of Copen from Inti Creates's Azure Striker Gunvolt 2. |
Witch | Spellcaster specialized in Magical artillery and some support via healing. Recommended advanced character for a playstyle focused on memorizing spell inputs and choosing the appropriate attack spells. |
Oracle (Unlocked after clearing the main scenario) |
Spellsword specialized in ranged DPS who requires support and buffing spells to reach maximum performance. Recommended advanced character for a risky playstyle that involves dishing out powerful ranged attacks and finding openings to cast buffs. |
Bandit (Unlocked after clearing the DLC scenario) |
Combo-based DPS with versatile damage types. Recommended advanced character for players coming from fighting games and those familiar with the other playable characters. |
Accent Color, Voice, & Name
You can select your character's accent color out of 8 colors.[b] There are 8 voices you can choose from: the first 4 are fully voiced with call-outs while the second 4 are just grunts. Character names are limited to 8 characters.
